Pitkin County Commissioners passed a resolution in 2019 declaring that a climate change emergency exists in Pitkin County with a commitment to implement a Climate Action Plan

To help reduce its environmental impact the airport monitors noise and responds to noise concerns, only operating between 7 am and 11 pm.

Values established during a comprehensive community engagement process that got underway in 2019 include striving to maintain enplanement growth to 8% per year and reduce emissions and noise by 30% as the airport terminal and runway are redeveloped for the future.

ASE’s partnership with The Good Traveler program is a reflection of the County’s overall commitment to climate action by encouraging its citizens and visitors to offset their travel.
