Further reducing our carbon footprint is an annual goal of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Renewable energy sources, such as wind generated electricity, have powered the terminal since 2011. That reduced the airport’s scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 75%. Since, the wind generated electricity has been extended to the airfield to convert diesel powered vehicles to electrical. Austin’s airport is pleased to offer passengers the opportunity to reduce their carbon foot print through The Good Traveler Program.  From its opening, Austin’s airport has employed a variety of environmental initiatives.
