Weed Warriors, Nature Stewards Program
Weed Warriors, Nature Stewards Program is a perfect fit for the savvy, Good Traveler wanting to offset their carbon footprint!
Since 2008, volunteers and community members of all ages have planted trees that sequester carbon and cool the planet with the Seattle-based nonprofit. The Program uses Pacific Northwest native plants in all habitat restoration projects, providing habitat for birds, butterflies, and bees. As true environmental stewards, Weed Warriors operates their nursery without pesticides or chemicals. The program also promotes education, offering a variety of classes on wildlife habitats, sustainable gardening, and environmental stewardship. The 1.6 acre community garden sponsored by Weed Warriors donates over 1,000 lbs. of organically grown fruits and vegetables to local food banks.
The mission of the program is to be environmental stewards; to connect, educate, empower, and advocate. The organization believes that environmental education and engagement with nature is essential to ensure a livable planet for future generations. The program takes action to see their vision of the world living in harmony with nature come to fruition.
Your funds donated through The Good Traveler will be used in habitat restoration projects that include removing invasives weeds and planting trees and other native plants in parks, community gardens, and other public spaces. Your carbon offset donation to the Weed Warriors, Nature Stewards Program benefits the health and sustainability of the planet.
